Fifteen new apprentices will be joining The HEX Group as we continue our commitment to training the next generation of engineers.

The HEX Group, which includes Alpha Manufacturing, Bri-Stor Systems, Atlas Coating, HEX Living and HEX Graphics, has supported over 200 apprenticeships across the business in the last 14 years.

This month the latest recruits to join the company’s successful apprenticeship scheme will start their training and get the opportunity to learn hands on, practical skills and training across a variety of disciplines.

The HEX Group Apprenticeship Manager Will Davies-Hill said: “It is always rewarding to see young talent recognised and given a chance to learn and grow in the industry.

“It is currently a very challenging economy, but at The HEX Group we remain committed to advancing the skills and opportunities available to the next generation of engineers.

“Many of our apprentices have gone on to develop high profile roles within the company and we are privileged to have seen their experience and knowledge grow. Apprenticeships are an important part of our business, and we are proud to be able to support young people in achieving their goals and advancing their skills.”

Since starting the apprenticeship program in 2008 around 15 apprentices have been appointed each year with a 100% success rate in apprentices going on to achieve a permanent role at the end of their training.

Apprenticeships are available across several disciplines within the company with each trainee given the opportunity to learn cutting edge manufacturing practices using the latest technology.

The program is split between on-the-job training and classroom teaching at The JCB Academy, Walsall College and Stafford College with apprentices given the opportunity to work across several teams to widen their skills.

This year there are 11 Level 3 and 1 Level 2 Welding apprentices and 3 Level 2 Performing Engineering Operation apprenticeships.
