The HEX Group Raises Over £15K for Local Charity
February marks a special milestone for our resident DJ, Jason Follows, as he celebrates 20 years of service at The HEX Group.
Jase began his journey when we were still based at our small airfield site across the road and has since witnessed the company flourish into what it is today.
He started out as an assembler, with a brief period working on the road completing reworks for roof gear, before discovering his keen eye for quality. This led him to his current role as a quality technician.
In his role, Jase is responsible for ensuring that the products and parts we use meet our high standards—investigating any issues and finding solutions when they don’t. He works closely with our sister divisions, Alpha Manufacturing and Atlas Coating, to ensure that when problems arise, they are swiftly resolved and engineered solutions are put in place to prevent recurrence.
Jase is also a strong advocate for our apprenticeship programme and regularly mentors apprentices as part of their rotations. He provides them with a crash course on all things quality, guiding them through the intricate yet essential reject process.
Reflecting on his time at The HEX Group, Jase commented:
“Being with the business for so long, it has been brilliant to see the growth—both in terms of the diverse range of customers we work with and the technology and values we have adopted.
What I have enjoyed most is playing a key role in the reject process and working closely with both our sister divisions and suppliers. It’s really rewarding to see the quick turnaround we can achieve, with our sheet metal manufacturing based in the same building—allowing parts to be re-welded and folded in record time.
The highlight of working here for me is the people. In my role, it’s essential to build good relationships across the group. Everyone is so friendly—and there’s always a laugh to be had.
If I had to choose a single standout moment from my time here, it would be HEXFEST last year—the company’s colleague festival held at Uttoxeter Racecourse. As a passionate DJ in my spare time, getting the chance to play for all my colleagues and their friends and family was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Jase continues to be a valued member of the team, and we look forward to seeing the ongoing impact of his work in the years ahead. Congratulations, Jase!
