According to a recent survey, 23% of employees have experienced bullying in the workplace, which is a staggering figure!
Bullying is never acceptable and should be dealt with professionally and sensitively.
To mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week, 14th – 18th November, we caught up with Karen Barnacle, Group HR Manager, to learn more about the initiatives implemented at The HEX Group to help and support employees.
“Last year, we launched the Shout-Up Scheme, an anonymous way for our staff to voice issues and concerns. By contacting us via email, employees can raise any sensitive issues with the guarantee of complete confidentiality. Since going live with this scheme, we’ve been able to support people with a variety of personal issues.
“We also provide access to free and confidential support for all staff through our Employee Assistance Programme. This helpline offers staff and their family counselling and advice on various personal, family and workplace issues.
“At The HEX Group, we encourage our employees to speak up should they have any concerns and provide support wherever we can, whether it be bullying or personal/workplace issues.”
